Electric Odyssey Closes Duluth Store

Electric Odyssey Closes Duluth Store (Duluth, Minn.) — Electric Odyssey, a business of Minnesota Power, announced today that it has closed its retail store at Miller Hill Mall in Duluth, Minn. The Electric Odyssey, which sold electric-related products, operated two retail stores besides its Duluth location. Those stores were located in the Minneapolis area and closed earlier this month. The company also sold merchandise via catalog and the Internet. These operations will also be discontinued.

“We’ve gained many loyal customers over the years and we thank them for their support,” said Lori Collard, president of Electric Odyssey. “However, Minnesota Power is committing its financial and human resources in a manner that will best help the company achieve its strategic objectives.”

All remaining inventory from the Duluth and Twin Cities stores as well as catalog operations will go on sale beginning at 9:00 a.m., Thursday, January 31 at the Electric Odyssey warehouse, located at 4439 Venture Ave., in the Duluth Airpark.

Electric Odyssey has been a tenant at Miller Hill Mall since 1983, first doing business as The Electric Outlet. The closure affects 17 employees at the store and warehouse operations. Electric Odyssey management has met with employees to explain benefit options and to assist them in finding other employment opportunities.
